what else is there to do on memorial day, or any day for that matter? lol

i went to see shrek 2 today, it was funny though. i took one car and my bro took another, i had another passenger as did he. my passenger and i left ahead of them and a minute later we think we see them pass us. i turn down the street to the movies and my passenger says no, these ones arent very good i told your brother we were going to the ones in Davenport (about 40 miles away). so we almost pull into the lot to see if they're there but instead we pull a u turn and head towards davenport. im flirting w/ 80 tryin to catch up w/ them because i havent seen them since they passed us. so we get all the way there and we dont see them anywhere, we try calling the cell but it wont work and he doesnt have it on anyway or w/ him. so we head back, stop in the lot in the towns theatres, and then head home only to find my bro there. the other passenger in my bros car started to head towards dav to look for us but since we had stopped in the lot on the way home we went the back roads so we didnt see each other. finally we got a hold of the other passenger and he came home. *whew* and it ended up no one saw the movie today. it was quite a hassle! oh and it turns out, they never passed us we were way ahead of them!!

It's not even remotely on topic though...

And no I didn't do anything particularly patriotic today. I took today off. ;) Hugged my grandfather yesterday and thanked him for a job well done. :thumb:

I do the American Legion "tour" up here. We usually do 4 graveside services, I waterfront ceremony, The parade, a parkside ceremony and we read the names of all who died in Afganistan and Iraq (new one for us this year) while a bell was tolled for each.

everyone sends their mother a card or gives her a call on mothers day, same with fathers day, yet.. on memorial day, almost no one celebrates what the day was made for.

Probably due to a lack of education and accepting of the sacrifice others have made to make this country what it is today.

I for one have not forgotten. I think of them each and every day… not just one day out of the year.
