Dual Display on 9800Pro

Post by m4a2t0t »

Trying to setup a dual display across 2 17"NEC LCD's, I can only set it up as 1 desktop but it shows it on 2 screens(the exact same thing). I setup dual display on a Nforce 2 board with onboard dual display and it had options like speading the desktop across both displays or 2 seperate desktops, i see nothing like that here. Anyhelp

Edit:I managed to get it to display 2 different desktops(1 without a taskbar), anyway to get it to display 1 big desktop?

i THINK you just change the resolution to span the monitors.

post over at rage3d.com

it COULD be an issue with using two lcd's? Or perhaps the control panel wasnt properly installed?

try a different driver too.

I believe that

is your only option. That's the way i've always run it and I liked it that way too. one of the nice functions is that you can have an aol IM window open while you watch a movie or even play a game.

you can get 3rd party software to allow you to have the taskbar across both displays (truetaskbar?)

But I need to have an extra long taskbar personally...

right click the desktop and go the properties... Then the settings tab

right away you should see two black monitors numbered 1 and 2

click number 2 and on the bottom left check the box "EXTEND MY WINDOWS DESKTOP ONTO THIS MONITOR"

this should work.. right now you are in clone mode and you can adjust this in the advanced--> displays area... its the two lil blue buttons by the particular monitor picture..
