Grandpa just died today

Post by golfnintendoboy »

found out during dinner when my uncle (mom's brother) called and told us he'd passed away at about 3:30.

we all knew it was coming because he's had some kind of lung disease for a couple years and we knew it was a matter of time. however, we weren't expecting it to be this quickly after we had just seen him during christmas.

anyways, my mom is going through a lot of grief now (it was her dad that died). we are christians so we believe he is with the Lord now but if any of you religous folks could find time to pray for her i would much appreciate it.

thank you.

golfnintendoboy,

Sorry to hear about your loss :( I remember when my grandfather died, it was *very* heart breaking, as I watched him die right infront of my eyes. I was right there as I watched him being rushed into the room, and then sitting in the room, and see his life just leave his body. Ugh, I dont think I ever cried so much before in my life that day and at the funeral.

Sorry about my ranting, hope you get thru this ok.

thank you roody, mwkirchner and Loonatic.

as of right now i am not planning to attend the funeral as it would be too costly. it will be just my parents. my brother and I didn't know him too well as is (i am 18 and he is 15). we still miss him but our mourning will have to be done from here.

thanks again.

p.s. sorry about your loss Loonatic. sounds like you had a worse experience then any of my family is having right now. my grandpa thankfully went peacefully in his sleep. my grandma saw him lie down to rest and he never woke up. better that way then in pain and suffering. i'm thankful for that.

My grandfather was not the nicest man in the world, but he was so good to me as a child.

Hold your fond memories of him.

peace to you,
d
I want to learn more and more to see as beautiful what is necessary in things; then I shall be one of those who make things beautiful. Amor fati: let that be my love henceforth! I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse. Looking away shall be my only negation. And all in all and on the whole: some day I wish to be only a Yes-sayer.
