Problems With Connection?

Post by Kane55686 »

I am using Road Runner, and i'm having problems accessing some websites on this PC and my other PC seems to be able to access them fine, I think I have a wrong setting somewhere on my PC. Road Runner said it might be a DNS problem...

Here is a screenshot of me pinging a website that does not load for me notice, this is a 1ms ping, and is going through my local host.

hmm not sure on that one. You aren't getting any packet loss which is good. Have you tried bypassing your router and going straight into your cable modem connection?

do you use a HOST file?

being that you can't access alexa makes me thinking HOST file, I beleave the host file from SpyBot blocks alexa

Where are you located??? I got RR in NC, they just did a DNS server upgrade/change last night......Call the RR help line (which they will be useless) just tell them you want the new DNS servers addresses

you may be better served to post this in the broadband forums (networking or cable/dsl) considering the nature of the question.

But I would say just to set your IE restrictions to default.

go to the pit and take the full tests it should be able to assess your browser issues ..
