Post by el bob »

<see subject>

Is 80GB enough?

I plan on using an 80GB 8MB Cache Maxtor for a capture drive.

you will need about 15-20GB. so no problems. dv is about 3.3MB/sec. multiply 5400 seconds by 3.3 to get 17GB. there are some special camcorders that capture at double or quadruple the rate, but i'm 99.9% sure that any consumer one will not.

Not done this in a while but i thought 60min would be nearer 38 gig mark.

In-case you don't know make sure you install NTFS.
