Richard, as you are a fellow canadian, I was just wondering if you have any thoughts on the difference between a Lite On or LG
DVD writer. In your judgment who is better - same ?

Have thought of getting one for a Xmas present, but thought that Lite On was better. Sales people are recommending LG - what do you Say?

Any one else who cares to comment - would love to hear.

Lite-Ons are terrific burners and are fairly cheap. They're all I use.

Hey Burke, how noisy are they? Not that it matters, but some reviews I've read said they were pretty audible.

Lite-On CD-RW drives aren't any more audible than others to me, but the DVD burners are a bit loud at times, especially when first loading a CD in the tray.

I'm still kicking myself in the backside. They had one on sale at Best Buy a few weeks back for like $40 and I didn't take advantage of it. I really got to get out of debt faster then I get into it.
