Change my MTU

Post by divzy2002uk »

Hi Guys, I cant seem to change my MTU from 1492 to 1500, I downloaded TCP Optimizer and it says my MTU is at 1500, so why does the analyser say its at 1492. How can I change this manually through my registry?? Cheers.

You are on a PPPoE based connection so your MTU should be 1492 and never 1500.

Does your modem have a ethernet out on it? Looks like a large phone jack. Also what motherboard is in your PC? It might have a built in Lan so you can hook ethernet up. If not you can get a PCI ethernet adapter for about $10.00 USD. :)
