ok, yall ... no spoilers, but this movie ROCKED! it was everything I thought it should be, after waiting about 4 years for this movie - ever since the end of Jason Goes To Hell, where Freddy's gloved hand came up out of the ground and pulled Jason's mask under.
The movie was funny in spots, action packed in spots, and while it didn't really have any "jump out of your seat" scares, the atmosphere was very good.
One thing I especially appreciated was the fact that this movie is not "politically correct" at all where it comes to the kills. I was afraid they might tone this flick down to appease all the p.c. mamma's boys, but believe me - they sling the blood by the GALLON in the movie.
This movie seemed to, and in my mind succeeds in paying homage to the slasher flicks of the 80s ....
My only gripe is that while the guy who played Jason did a good job, I am among the people who believe Kane Hodder should have played Jason ... he gives much more personality to Jason (um-if that's possible).
All in all I think it is a fine addition to both the Nightmare & Friday franchises - maybe it'll be enough to ressurrect them both.
