im running windows xp sp1 (all other updates installed). i was wondering if the @home speed patch in this sites download section would increase my cable speed? it says it is intended for 98, but will it work for xp? i backed up my registry... just want replies to anyone that has xp and used this patch that got some sort of increase in speed...

That is an old patch, and it's for 98 only. XP wasn't even in development when that patch was written.
NEVER use a patch for a 9x system on XP. XP registry settings for tweaking TCP are not in the same local as for 98

Glad to hear you made a backup, so many don't, and then cry the blues when their system craps out from tweaking it with the wrong tweaks.
