While im waiting for suggestions im gonna ask a few questions. Wasnt the hercules card's and the creative card's the way to go at one time? That Creative Card Looks Sweet,But looks dont mean anything. What do you suggest? Not only do i want good sound playback but i want good sound recording for my radio station.

I heard the M-Audio Revolution is the killer sound card. I dunno, I'm verrrry impressed with my Turtle Beach Santa Cruz ;)

Downhill, Burke and I believe YOSC can tell ya a whole lot more about it, they're the sound gurus.

I guess it depends on what you want to do with it.

You can have the greatest card in the world but if you're trying to get quality sound into it with a $5 mic then your out of luck.

If your not into gaming, and don't mind splunking down a few hundred or more on a soundcard...there are quite a few good ones out there..

If your into gamming, then your limited to only a few...they have already been posted.

I kinda like the Revolution but wish it also had software for DVD-Audio...oh well.......maybe this year sometime.
The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own for the children and the children yet unborn and the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.

looks to be more for professional like audio recording, teh revolution card does high recording levels but is still a nice consumer grade card with 7.1 supported, and M-Audio is also not junk, they have some nice high end sound card and utilities as well

The M-Audio Revolution doesn't do DirectX sound on the card...it offloads it to the CPU. This does have an effect on framerates in gaming.
