The Stockholm district court ordered Stephen Glover - known as Steve-O on the defunct series on the American music channel - held in jail until June 6, while a prosecutor prepares possible charges of drug smuggling and drug possession. Sweden has some of Europe's strictest anti-drug laws.
``I had an ecstasy pill in my bag and I smoked marijuana in the hotel room. I admit to both of those crimes,'' Glover said during the hearing. He denied smuggling the drugs into Sweden and said he had only joked when he described the condom stunt to a Swedish newspaper and on his Web site.
The reports led police to raid Glover's hotel room Thursday in Stockholm, where they found marijuana and an ecstasy pill. Glover and other members of the ``Jackass'' crew had performed their ``Don't Try This at Home'' show in the Swedish capital the night before.
``I apologize that my bad sense of humor has wasted so much of the Swedish taxpayers' money,'' he told the court.
Glover's court-appointed defense lawyer Bjoern Hurtig said he would appeal the detention order because it would keep the entertainer from making a living.
Jason Berk, Glover's attorney in the United States, said to ``suggest that Steve-O is a flight risk is almost humorous. This is a person whose whereabouts are known by the general public every day of his life.''
Berk added that Glover wouldn't endanger his career by becoming a fugitive.
