BF42 Splash screen and intro movie....

Post by Illini25 »

If you're getting sick of the EA and Dice logos, the intro movie and the legal notice (delays the start of the game)

Just add '+restart 1' after the shortcut command path (minus the ' marks)... Works like a charm!!

Thought I'd share this with the rest of you :)

Here's a few screens I took:

r2r:

BF42:

Where it says 'target' just add +restart 1 then hit 'apply' and the splash screens and video wont run, it will go automatically into the menu's of the game.

Yeah, I still play it! But recently I've been playing r2r since I got it, hehe

Flying the choppers is almost useless for me anyways, REALLY hard, lol Wish it was the same as flying the choppers in Operation Flashpoint. That game is fairly easy to fly the choppers.

I've noticed more and more servers running DC more also...w0o0o0ot!!

kEWL!! I'll keep an eye out for it [servers]. OFP?? Damn, that reminds me, I still have to finish OFP Resistance. And you're so right the choppers in that game was very much controllable than BF1942 DC, but servers for OFP lagged alot due to my connection - not worth upgrading at the moment.

A friend of mine and I, just got done with the DC co-op - and Kickin' A$$!! My friend can rock anybody's world with the chopper too!! When he gets in, it's like HELL just rained down on the opposition - HELLFIRE rockets are devasting! Personally, I love straffing with the Thunderbolt A-10.

Well maybe someday we'll be on the same server... Does DC work with R2R?? I don't have R2R yet but soon it will be here locally - online for me is not worth it due to my location... Thanx for the heads up btw...

Not that im aware of. I have 2 icons on the desktop, one for BF and one for r2r. If i want to play DC, I'll start the game from BF icon and go from there. Im not sure they have made it compatible for r2r yet. Im hoping they complete the mod for its final release soon. Cant wait to see the other improvements on the game and the new map there making for it!

You can also just delete all the files in the 'Movies' folder in your BF1942 directory, thats what I did and it works just fine.

Right click on the Icon on your desk-top for the game, click on "Properties" and in there you will see this; "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" <==(((anything beyond this, remove, click apply and the film will not play. Once the game starts and you have seen the two signatures click on "Esc" and it will load you up into the menue. You donot have to add anything in the "Short-Cut" command but if you have already it will not hurt anything :p

great trick

I was going to post a link to that thread, but the SG search results for "bullsh|t" were too numerous

sometimes you have to think outside the box to get inside the box ;).
