If your have several computers connected in a LAN for some amount of time, network browsing will eventually see the other workgroups. It's normal for them to remain as "ghosts" for a short amount of time after you disconnect the network, a few reboots may speed up the removal.

They're harmless, and should have had nothing to do with registering a game. Just browser delay. (network browsing)

there are only two workgroups in my lan, one named "master" (thats my pc connected via dsl) & the other one is "mistress" (the workstations' workgroup). now, how come i see seven other ghost workgroups namely: "ttan", "workgroup", "gamenet"... etc...

i have done several reboots. but the ghosts stays.

i have heard from someone that this ghosting is done thru a folder/printer sharing option, but i cannot recall how it is done.

on win xp you can right mouse click and then click on cut to remove the folder you want.
