What are the perfect Conditions for the highest possible DSL Speed? And what type of weather conditions may affect my DSL experience?

Since aDSL is a hardwired solution, it should not be affected by weather conditions in the least, with the exceptions noted above (damaged cable, no dialtone, etc.) Even works during power outages. (my westell and linksys run off my UPS too
)

That is a common, and valid concern for people on Cable internet, as coax has a tendency to expand and contract inside the cable and at connectors with changes in temperature. But DSL runs over phone wires, simple solid-core one-pair phone wires. Unless the "slick" is cut or damaged, you shouldn't see a problem.

During Hurricane Lilli last year, when I was working at DSG, for Bellsouth, I got a call from a guy in Louisiana, who was on a cell phone (barely), on Avery Island, LA. The storm was 5 hours out, with winds to 70 MPH. He had NO power, and NO phone lines, since in Southern Louisiana most of the lines are still above ground. He could NOT understand WHY his DSL would not work. I asked him if he could receive or make regular phone calls on his line.
That's when he informed me that his phone lines were down to the street. Very calmly, I advised him he needed to evacuate rather then worry about his DSL, and that we would have service restored a few days after the storm had hit. This guy wanted to log on to AOL to check his e-mail.
We still laugh about that one.
