no snake just the opposite....for instance in dimly lit surroundings or if not wanting to use a flash you would want a higher ISO or film that is more sensitive to light.

Yes ISO/ASA refers to the 'speed' of the film, the faster it is, the more sensitive to light it is. However, the faster the film-stocks tend to be 'grainier'.
