Digital Camera Opinions--Sony or others?
Digital Camera Opinions--Sony or others?
I have been waiting and waiting to get one of these and now I think I'm ready. Does anyone have opinions on them? Which model do you have? I'm considering the DSC-P71 which has 3.2 megapixel, 3x optical/2x digital zoom.
Any opinions or other suggestions? I am a DJ and want it to be able to take good pics. in lowlight situations, I need to be able to see what I'm taking pictures of when in the dark, I would like both an LCD screen and traditional viewfinder, and I don't want anything really bulky and big. I am open to other ideas!
The camera doesn't have to be "known" for taking great lowlight pics, but I would like something that takes decent ones along with good regular pics, too!
Thanks!

Needlefreak,
Those are timed exposure with the camera mounted on a tripod, no? If so, nearly any camera is capable of the same. I do not believe that there is much of a difference in the electronics (CCD or CMOS), so you should look into a camera with the widest lens aperture.

I want to learn more and more to see as beautiful what is necessary in things; then I shall be one of those who make things beautiful. Amor fati: let that be my love henceforth! I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse. Looking away shall be my only negation. And all in all and on the whole: some day I wish to be only a Yes-sayer.
hi,
it seems that sony dc is a bit good at shooting under low light though its overall image quality is not as good as canon or other big brand.
i have a dsc p-9, i like its cool design, handy and has a very good feel in my hand. sorry, i'm a sony fans

i dont know too much about low light but ... the canon s230 seems like a great camera if you dont want to spend alot of money..
its really hard to buy a camera without trying it first so ask the store if you can buy and exchange return the cameras so you can try them all out and buy the one that you like the best. Thats what i did.

I was going to post a link to that thread, but the SG search results for "bullsh|t" were too numerous
sometimes you have to think outside the box to get inside the box
