Little error I can't seem to fix

Post by MadDoctor »

I have this error on three W2K computers in the house. I have work-arounds... but I'd like to know the fix anyway.

Thanks!

I am sorry, but I don't know the answer to your problem. I just thought I would bump it up to the top. :)

I made the registry change indicated, rebooted and now I get this message:

Image

WAIT!!!!

After hitting the OK button... I scrolled down the page and all my programs are there to be removed!!!

Thanks for the help. Don't know what the first warning is about and why there is all that blank space but hey... the registry fix did it.

Thanks BMED!

Click Start and then click Run.

Type cmd and click OK.

At the prompt, type REGSVR32 APPWIZ.CPL.

If the command is not successful, click Start and then click Run again.

Maybe a second try will work...

This is interesting. I went to the wife’s computer this morning and instead of doing the registry fix like I did on mine, I went right to the command sfc /scannow. Much to my surprise, Nothing happened. It’s still broken. Then I try the command REGSVR32 APPWIZ.CPL (twice). On the second attempt… it announces “DllRegiserServer in APPWIZ.CPL succeeded” but it’s still broken.

That registry add might have more weight than I thought. I’ll be back.

*edit*

I'm back. I did the registry add and now it works. Strange. 2 down... 1 to go.
