Is Offutt located right outside of Omaha? I forget the name of the town though. I have a good friend that I have not seen inawhile stationed there.

207th Evacuation Hospital, Nov.90-June91.

Not much to say about it, it was a decade ago. I do miss many of my fellow soldiers though. Oh well, that was then and this is now!

I was at Ft Bragg for a several years but I was too young for the Gulf War thing.
It is a bad thing to say but I wish I had been there. Excitement and fear all rolled into one!

Actually I have, they are shy to diagnose after I tell them I was in the Gulf. They tell me I should go through the VA for treatment.

I had a lower back injury while in the gulf also, I went for treatment at a private hospital "Pain Center". They gave me trigger point injections into my spinal cord, the injections contained steroids. I went through a series of three injections over a period of fours weeks. About half way through the treatment my shin disorder cleared completely up, it was frickin gone!

I seen my Derm Dr. and explained to him what had happened after the injections. He stated that the steroids would work as treatment, but the side effects from long-term use could cause heart problems or many other disconforting symptoms.

This skin problem seems to come and go now, the only problem is now when it breaks out it gets worst than before. It is very painful because the skin will crack from dryness caused by the out-break.

I have lived with this for ten years now, kinda got use to it! It's more of a annoyance than anything else, would be nice to have a cure from the out-breaks though...

Yeah I got the same thing too...even now although it has gotten to be more of a recurrent annoyance but here is something for you. After going to death highway...I got very sick...my tongue was ulcerated, my resting heart rate was about 100bpm, and I had a fever of about 102 for about 3 days. Now this scared a lot of the flight docs so they shot me up full of whatever and the symptoms went away...but then I started to get this rash on the back of my leg...the same leg that I was resting my ass on at death highway on that hill that I'm pictured in...the one with the cinderblock wall. From what I've been told, I may have been overexposed to depleted uranium...they use them in shells and that place got screwed up so maybe some of the material was on the wall that I sat down on and that is how I got that rash....never goes away even with radioactive ointment!

uod2001, I was stationed at King Fahd Military Medical Center and Aziz International Airport Medical Center. I worked in the Biomedical Departments of both facilites.
I had the luxurious Khobar Towers for a home, in fact the building where I was living was destroyed by terrorist back in June 26, 1996.

I went through basic at Fort Dix, great times!

Did anyone go over to Bahrain for a good drunk? I spent a couple long weekends over there tying one on, Saudi's didn't like alcohol or women!

Serious question! Are there any Gulf war vets here with strange health problems?
Just curious! I have had a skin disorder since July of 1991, The VA seems to think that I contracted some sort of parasite while in Saudi, but they will not give a exact diagnosis because then they will have to allow me to claim a disability.

Some of my friends say I'm nuts, but I wish I could've got into the Army. I joined in my Jr. year in highschool through the delayed entry program. I took the ASVAB and scored really high. After that all the armed forces where calling my house. My mom thought I was in deep trouble because Sargent so&so and Major so&so kept calling asking for me (she thought it was the police)

Well I picked the Army, and was supposed to be stationed in Germany. But a bad motorbike accident put an end to all that. I was in the hospital, still in traction, when school started for my Sr. year. Since I never seen active duty and now was a liability, my "contract" was null and void.

I feel like I would be in a better position in life now if I had chance to get in. I spent too many years partying and playing around after high school. I think the military would've given me the swift kick in the ass, I needed, to get serious about life.
