Post by gabs »

i usually allow some kids to play LAN games in my house, with 3 pc's connected over a hub. then one day one of the kids registered himself for an online game, & then suddenly when i browse my network neigborhood i found out that there were so many strange workgroups being created/added in my home lan. can someone tell me how these workgroups got inside my lan? or how do i get rid of it? is there a prevention? can someone help me pls.

The workgroups should "go away" after a little bit of time. The network neighborhood or my network places is created by browser elections that take place in the background on a lan. If a browser election takes place while you are connected to foreign computers you may pick up their workgroup icons. Once your computer holds another browser election your icons for those rogue workgroups should disappear.
