bf 1942 and geoforce cards

Post by techman »

I convinced a friend that bf1942 was so great. He went out and bought the game. It would not go past the intro screen. He had a geforce 2 64meg card. He went out and bought a Geoforce 4 card.... same thing! He is so fustrated. I can't think of anything but maybe some conflict with his motherboard. I wonder about memory also. Any ideas?

Should run like a champ! Buddy has a GF2 32 megger...and it does pretty well. 64 megs is more ideal.

More specs on the rig...CPU, RAM, OS.

I'd try for the latest nVidia drivers, latest DirectX, latest sound drivers, and make sure the game patch is installed. The game does like RAM. I have not heard of problems running this game, it's not buggy or very system sensitive like..say...the original Unreal was when it first came out.

Runs fine on my system, with a GF2 MX 32 MB, so I would think it is NOT his video card.
