Printer choose

Post by Jeremy »

My old HP Deskjet 695c (1999) can accept a photo cartridge. Would it be ok to print photos using that, or would i be better off buying a new printer? I am looking at the HP Deskjet 5550 and HP Photosmart 7150. Any suggestions? Note that i don't have a fat wallet.

It all depends on what you want the photos for. If you want professional looking stuff that old 695 ain't gonna hack it where the newer ones will. The 695 just doesn't have the resolution for it and is several generations back in technology. The newer printers are dirt cheap, but they get ya in the cost of the ink. It was an awesome printer for it's day, but it's day has past. It still makes for a good second, text only printer though. That's the thing about those HP printers: It's darn hard to kill 'em.
