Gun buffs who own "Saving Private Ryan"

Post by Humboldt »

What type of rifle does the character with "Brooklyn NY, USA" written on the back of his shirt in white letters carry?

For further clarification he says, at about minute 43 if you own the DVD, "even if you think the mission is FUBAR sir?"

Thanks

just like the m1911 (commonly known as colt 45)

just some basic facts that i know off the top of my head

-had a 20 round box magazine (never put more than 17 rds or u will break the sping rather quickly)
-made in 1918 by john browning
-30 caliber, gas operated, and air-cooled
-fires about 450 rds a minute

I have another 'SPR' question......

Tom Hanks Character....Capt. Miller?? (Cant remember)
You know how they showed his right hand shaking all the time? Does anyone know what he had?

Barry Pepper = Jackson
Edward Burns = Reiben

Although one thing I forgot was that Vin Diesel was in the movie, until I saw it again, lol

shaking hand?? wouldn't that be one of the signs of Parkinson?
You see, the rat's also a Ventriloquist.

Real Scots wear kilts, because sheep can hear a zipper from 500 yards

The stress of combat manifested itself in the shaking of his hand.

That's what I thought it was, but wasnt sure. When they were held up for a few hours in the church and Capt Miller was talking about rationalizing about loosing men in combat. On how he lost 90 something and that alone was probably causing him an enourmous amount of stress.

Question for you WW2 Buffs:

My dad has a German Mauser Sniper rifle from WW2 that my grandpa picked up from a German soldier that he killed. Anyways, my dad still has it and its a 'live' gun. Anyone have any idea's on how much the value of that gun would be?

I told my dad I would look around the net and see what I could come up with.

Thanks for any replies,

Most high cap mags and clips are loaded 1-2 rounds short to keep the spring from becoming underpowered over time and thus causing a failure to feed..

As fas as how the spring in the BAR reacted Krazy would have to elborate...
