I think I will be getting that PR internship at UAW HQ. The lady that runs the website, the one who interviewed me, keeps asking when I can be available to work and she said that she hasn't talked to my final reference but that is okay, because he wouldn't be "a deal breaker" after talking to some of the other people I have worked with. She also said that my information has been sent to her superior.

She didn't come right out and say, "you're hired" but damn she is sending the signals.

If they fired me I would have them represent me against them, or something. I wonder if they would encourage me to strike. (conflict of interest)

I probably won't be unionized for the aforementioned reason, which I don't mind because I don't want to pay union dues.
