Very disturbing news...the sniper is really getting bold...9:30am.

I think he'll mess up shortly.

excuse me but what in the **ck is going on here!! CRIPES, I hope they find this @$$ hole and nail his @$$ with a damn bazooka!! GOOD GRIEF this makes me so MAD.. WHY would ANYONE do this. This must be some wacked out sniper that was dishonerably discharged or something...cause whoever it is they're good, I hope they get caught soon, then I want them tied to a wooden post, the Govt to fly me out so i can hit the moron until he's black and blue, or one of my hands breaks from the pressure and THEN i want them to gas him!! GRRRR why do something like this

Ya know, immediately following 9/11, America was all lovey dovey...even the crazies snapped out of their delusional states. Crime plummeted...but it soon bounced back and here we are on the brink of war and people are vying for the limelight in the most horrible way possible.

It is very sad.

This is very saddening. If I lived in that area I'd probably leave the state!

My theory is that it is someone on the police force or the military. It's obviously someone who has had significant training using a high-powered rifle with great accuracy.

Let's hope they get him/her soon.

Has anyone heard of any connection between any of the victims?

I just keep trying to think how I would react if I lived in the area...and I can't come up with anything that seems right to me. Aside from going into total isolation in a nice thick building, there doesn't seem to be a good way to protect yourself. Does this make three counties involved now?

I think the one thing I'd make sure of is to "case" any area I needed to travel to. The sniper may be a long distance from his selected shooting gallery, but I'd still look around carefully for parked white vans or other suspicious vehicles that are idling, and look for exhaust from the tailpipe.

I've read the profile of this moron...he isn't a trained sniper because snipers don't leave evidence or calling cards at all...it is one of the tenets of the trade...DO NOT BE DISCOVERED.

So this is someone who probably wanted to be a sniper but was rejected...along with other personal issues.

The fact that he takes shots from a distance means that it is NOT about the victims...it is all about him and his 15 minutes of fame. He is an egomaniac and wants to be famous.

Dunno why they keep calling him a snipper any one that has shot a gun 10 times or so can hit some one in the head 150 yards away with a scope or has deer hunted ect

OK...this is really getting wild....this may be the work of two people....this is insanity.

Looks like it may be a driver AND a shooter....

Also, this last guy killed was a veteran of the Viet Nam war....

The "Beltway Sniper" is becoming more brazen in his pursuit of
victims. Here he is spotted actually walking along the I-95 North
taunting Tommy Chong (of Cheech & Chong fame) to come out of his vehicle
so he can shoot him. Tommy, being no dummy, refuses and counter taunts
the sniper with the quip, "what are you going to do ya pervert...I'm in the sniper free lane!"
