one way broadband
Is it possible to install your registry tweaks on a one way broadband connection? Or will the MTU settings create problems for the uplink on a regular phone line?
Thanks
Thanks
It shouldn't as long as you only tweak the settings for your network adaptor and not your dialup adaptor.

Maybe I should explain myself more fully.
One way broadband uses a cable for downloading and the cable modem itself is uplinked with a phone line(it doesn't use the cable for uploading). Hence the term, 'one way broadband'. So my question is directed at my network adapter, but, I'm wondering if tweaking the MTU will be too much data for the cable modem's uplink(which is a phone line)?

As a former One-way cable modem user you can use a regular modem like a USR internal 56k to "send" your data.and use a MTU of 576 on a on dialup connection you make.If you copy all applicable network settings to your dialup connection you manually make. You will receive all incoming data on your Cable modem and use a RCV window of 65392.
So yes you can do what your wanting to do.As i used to do it.These two-way guys dont know much about 1-way.I had it for 2 years and researched every possibillity and the one i suggested seem's to give you the best ping times for online gaming ,usually 120 to 160ms and Downloading.Use a download accelerator also. And make sure you have a controller based internal modem like the USR 56k performance pro,not a WIN or SOFTWARE modem.....hope that helps
