Is this a deal or what???

Post by Croc »

We have been offered ex government computers from where my wife works.
They all have been refurbished by the manufacturer.

The systems are all Acer Power Intel Pentium 200mmx with 64 meg RAM, 1.8gb HDD with CDRom and Floppy drives, Soundcard, mouse and keyboard.

Price... $au 138-00

To that add the options of your choice:

17" Acer monitor..$105-00
15" " " .... $83-00
128meg RAM .... $80-00 (upgraded, not added to the 64meg)
Speakers .... $25-00

With the Au dollar currently worth around 55c U.S. are they reasonable value?

That's a nice price for what are essentially worthless computers.

EDIT: Actually, if you add those options to it the price becomes very much not worth it. Don't even bother. Someone is trying to make a quick buck from this.

Not sure what the conversion rate is right now. About how much would $100 AU be in US$?

Basically what you would be getting is an oversized PDA without any of the 'cool' factor (if you think PDAs are cool to have).

Search ebay for about 3 minutes and that will give you an answer. That same computer sells for about 30$US on ebay but then its about $30 for shipping so it kind of evens out.
