Speed as relates to the state of the internet
Through tips and advice I have received by using this forum, I have reached what I believe to be optimum settings for my computer. They have stayed in place now for almost 2 months and I have not felt the need to adjust anything any further. My provider is Adelphia(3000/128) and the only "outage" I've had required stringin a new cable line from the box to the computer(it was over 10 years old). During speed tests I often exceed my caps and most of the time I am at least 90%. The point here is that sometimes, my speed falls dramatically and I've come to realize that heavy internet use, especially here in the northeastern corrider during the weekeds and during prime hours is the major factor for that speed decrease. So I don't continue to monkey around with my settings to try and match what is an ever changing environment. Any thoughts on this?

One of the smartest things I have seen anyone post in a while. Everyone thinks there is always something wrong with their settings when things slow down but as I have stated in the past.... it's out of your control so don't worry about it. If people did as you and tested and found the best settings for their connection and left them alone then we wouldn't have allot of these ridiculous posts here in the forum. I'm glad your happy and have learned something.
