Update on the experiment to destroy a car's paint (pics)

Post by Juggernaut »

Ok, this is the promised update from the previous "Balogny Experiment" thread where we are trying to destroy my buddy's paint job with some weird stuff.

I took the suggestions from you guys/girls since the balogny was a failure.

We attempted the shaving cream, WD40, Brake Fluid, and of course Lighter Fluid + matches :)

Without further ado, here are the pics (all the pics have been resized from 1600x1200 down to 640x480 with the quality reduced a lot, don't want them to take forever to load)...DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME :)

Image
Shaving Cream (well Gel): The left side of the car is with the Gel put directly on there and then moved around with my finger to produce the "creamy" consistency. The Right side of the car is it mixed up as cream in my hands and then put on the car.

This is where we put the WD40 on the roof of his car and tried lighting it on fire. We couldn't get it to go up in flames however.

Image
This is the Brake Fluid on the hood of the car. We later added A LOT more and just dumped the can onto the hood.

This is the lighter fluid + matches. We kept squirting more lighter fluid on there to keep it going.

And more fire pics

One more fire pic

You may notice there isn't any after pics. That's because out of everything we tried, NONE OF THEM DID ANYTHING! I don't know what his car is made out of, but none of these things did anything to it! We had to start scratching on the roof with my keys to make sure that it was actually paint, still not sure :)

This damn car is indestructible.

Are you sure it's not an experimental car once driven by Richard Kiel and Jackie Chan?

That's what we were hoping for. We're disappointed in the results to say the least :)

I don't know what's up with the car, it's like a tank

well, what about eggs? it wasn't acknowleged in the previous thread. since it's organic, it probably won't do anything either, but i would dispell the myth.

i bet it's because of the laquer that is used in newer paint jobs. i the newer polymer-based clear-coats are resistant to many things that older ones weren't.
