You can set the "Days to keep pages in History" at "0" on the Tools | Internet Options... | General tab.

assuming we're using Win2k or XP.
copy and paste the following and save to notepad as nohistory.reg


Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Save_Session_History_On_Exit"="no"
