Hey -
Here's my issue: I have two partitions on one single hard drive. One 40 gb partition with Windows ME (this was what I originally used) and just recently installed Windows XP Home on my second partition. Now I used XP primarily, and I see no reason to ever log onto my Windows ME partition. How can I go about uninstalling Windows ME? I don't want to format that partition nor do I want to simply delete the "WINDOWS" folder. I just want a clean uninstall.
Secondly, I want to make my WinXP partition (drive D on my system) to be the primary partition (Drive C). I'd just feel much better having my OS on the C: drive. All of this of course, after uninstalling ME.
Anyone have a good plan to make it happen? I'm sure I could figure it out without much of a problem, but I know someone here could give me the most efficient way of doing it.
Thanks so much!

I don't know that there is any other way than to reformat or delete the directory. Did you upgrade to WindowsME from another OS??
If it's a clean install of ME, then you probably need to do what yikes suggested.
Yikes, in response to what you wrote,
Question: If I simply delete the WINDOWS folder of the ME partition and remove winME from the boot.ini file, am I going to come up with errors for various reasons? Or could I do it without any problems arising?
Also, how can I reverse drive letters and make my WINXP partition drive C?
Thanks.
I can get what I need from the ME partition, I can format the partition, but when that's all done, how can I make the WinXP the "C drive?" What would happen, would be I would have drive C as the partition with no OS, and Drive D with WinXP.I would suggest trying this,
1. copy all needed data from winME partition to winXP one
2. format winME partition
3. edit the boot.ini so that winME no longer shows up!
4. copy wanted data back over to the other partition.
5. bingo bango bongo, Your done.
