They have been busy lately.
Not that I mind though.

Does anyone know why after this update AVG says that my virus database is too old and even when I try to update it. it tells me there are no updates available??

Evening caveman when downloading what do you have your window set at?.Under download from server open window and make sure it says download http://www.grisoft.cz this way you are downloading direct from avg site.
I found this is faster and more reliable.cheers

Not had the problem here either.
Do as jujet84 suggests and link your updates through the .cz site.

Works much faster than the U.S. site.

You may see a change in the status after a reboot.

Done all that and it`s still the same I`m afraid.

I also went to grisoft.com and downloaded the latest update file from there and saved it to the UPDATE subdirectory as it says on the website and it`s still the same even after shutting down AVG and restarting it and even after a full re-boot so it looks like I`m gonna have to re-install AVG completely from scratch and see how I go from there!!

Thanx any way y`all ;) :D

Righty then, un-installed AND re-installed TWICE and there`s still no light at the end of the antivirus tunnel!! :(

So can anyone suggest anything else to try??

Were you manually d/loading and applying the updates or going through the update manager in Control Panel?

In case you were not, go to Control Panel from the tray icon > Update Manager > set the address to the grisoft.cz site and try the d/load again. Some will require a reboot, others won't.

What OS are you using?

If you have done all that then the only suggestion is to maybe go through the FAQ's and the AVG Tutor at the link.

I have only heard of one other person having to drop AVG because it just didn't work on his system. I have no details on why it didn't work.

The link to the Tutor.

Hope this helps.

It has all worked ok up until now though, that`s what is bugging me.

I`ve sent a bug report to Grisoft so with a bit of luck either they`ll come back with something or when they release a new update maybe that`ll sort it out, who knows?!?!?!?!

Anyways, thanx for your thoughts and if you have anymore let`s have `em!! :D :D

All sorted then. Great.

The update should be 211 of 15/7/2001.
