Excellent post Humboldt.
It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the fredom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, serves under the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag. De Oppresso Liber

I think it's hilarious.
What'd you get pulled over for?
Im very glad he went pretty easy on me...gave me the "everyone makes mistakes speech" and then said I had two options..I could take the ticket...or he could call my parents instead..
took awhile for it to soak in but I had him call my parents

the usual fun stuff....a couple of us were peeling out to mess around....I just went a little TOO far peeling out when I left...was going about 35-40 in the back of the parking lot ...there were only 10 cars (roughly) in the front of the parking lot....the cop didnt pull me over to ticket me...he just pulled me over to make sure I realized how dangerous it was for me to do what I did...and he called my parents (it was either that or he would have given me a ticket for speeding). He was actually pretty nice about the whole situation....but my parents werent too happy with the phone car they got around 10:30 at night...especially since I was in my moms car when it happened...

hey I never said he was an uncool cop....he was very cool!!
I was happy he pulled me over...and not someone else in a bad mood...
but that doesnt mean I wouldnt have been happier had no one pulled me over either...
Im just glad he realized it was a bunch of kids messing around and meant no harm....he just wanted me to see what I was doing was wrong..and I realize that.
I didnt mean any harm was just messing around...I know I looked like an as*hole to anyone else though...I felt bad that he had to pull me over though.
oh well we live we learn. next time I do stuff like that I will make sure its on the track...where I usually do all of my dumb stuff with friends..lol

I didn't mean to imply anything.
The cops around where I live, cut no-one any slack.
They'd of considered it reckless op and issued the ticket, which would have involved a visit to court and higher insurance premiums.
I think it's great that not all of the countries law enforcement officers, take the job with such seriousness. I'm not saying they shouldn't, but cutting some slack now and then, wouldn't hurt any.
