It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the fredom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, serves under the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag. De Oppresso Liber

As long as you're giving individual pieces of music a chance and not putting them into a big category in order to dismiss them, then I have no big disagreement.Originally posted by punk_princess
Hello, I used to be one of those teeny boppers then I woke up and got my head cleared and now I know what's good and what isn't.
But the attitude that some ppl have toward say, Britney or NSYNC really rubs me the wrong way. I can listen to some of her stuff and it almost makes me ill it's so boring, but then there are other songs like Oops I did it Again.... Wow. That's an incredible piece of musical energy. I couldn't give a crap if the lyrics are pointless, the fact that it's a virtual orgasm for the ear, means it rates high in my book. Yet people write it off because it's, you know, Britney. They resent the image/popularity and such. I just don't think like that. I can enjoy what I enjoy.

I understand that point completely. But you also have to realise, there are some people, like me per say, that really don't care for Britney's style of music. I can go to a club and dance to it, it's all the same, because all dance music pretty much has the same beat, but that doesn't mean it's what I chill out to. I mean it's personal preference. Sorry for being sooo rude to you all earlier, I was at work and that really didn't help things. Anyways, I get what your saying and all that jazz. Everyone just needs to chill out and get over ourselves and realise everyone listens to their own thing, be it punk or Milli Vanilli. It doesn't matter, it's what that person likes. We aren't going to change each others minds by arguing over it, lets just all get over ourselves and talk about a music style we all agree on. Or at least stop trash talking each other.Originally posted by torsten

Again, this was all joking around. It was highly publicised that they were hacks. We just baited the hook you bit and we ran with it. Again it was just being funny. I really don't like milli vanilli.Originally posted by punk_princess
No, it's just some of us actually had lives and don't want to waste ours by arguing over Milli Vanilli

I heard some rumbling in the alley, that woke up this old fart. I heard the word debate.
Still have the same things in my wallet as listed before.
