Ra2

Post by joecool169 »

Just a quick question, When my friends and I play Red Alert 2 over my LAN the game goes very slow and half the time we don't finish the game cause we get the reconnect error:-(

Does anyone know a fix, all machines are XP Pro and all games have Yuri's Revenge installed and the 1.006 patch.

Maybe a tweak for ipx?? I dunno I know nothing about ipx, I just installed it and started playing :D

Plz help soon......I wanna play!

that doesnt sound right.... if you're on a LAN you shouldnt be having slowness problems unless the PC is overloaded.... You said your runnin XP - how much ram do you have???

hehe 256 in each, and trust me it ain't the pc's it is the LAN and the more stuff we build the slower the games go:-(

All Pc's play the game excellent on single player mode, in fact with game speed set to 6 it is almost to fast!

Thanx for the quick reply!

None:-) 5 port HUB that could be the problem it's a hub and not a switch, but with 3 peeps in the game I think a hub should do the job

It is a linky 10/100

All Pc's run netgear 10/100 Nics

Yeah, it happens to me and I got a router/switch (RT314) and the NAT processing is excellent. I also have some computers on a Linksys hub. The switch and the hub computers perform identically in ping. Yes, we do experience some slowdowns but it's usually due to the slower computer. Most the times though, even with 6 computers playing, the slowness disappears after a while.

Also make sure that you put the game speed to the max in all computers.
