Internet Explorer Problem

Post by david24151 »

Just wondering if anyone could tell me how to fix this problem. I have recently installed win xp pro and I am having just this one problem. Everytime I get on internet (cable access) when I request a page it comes up just fine but if there is a link that i click on in that page that opens another page it just comes up and stays blank..this is a problem i don't know how to fix so i will leave it up to the experts.. thank you

ok go to:
start/programs/windows update

When on that page just read the instructions and follow.
update evrything except the foriegn language stuff

Ther seems to be a bug with internet explorer 6
the updates should have a fix for it

i don't have the option to refresh..all i can do is look at it or close it. this problem is very troublesome..you don't know how nice it is till its gone...

i just tried again and the page just says internet explorer on the top left and the minimize, restore, quit on the top right

Hitting the F5 key should do a refresh. Try it and see if the page comes up properly.

Let me know.

Also, when you updated IE did you choose "custom install" and check off everything in the list of options (other than all the language support) ?

Just a suggestion, go to run and type in "sfc /scannow". Maybe something got hosed somewhere during the install, this should fix it. I've had many problems with IE6 such as pages not found. I have never had that problem before.
