Ok ya turn on yer PS2 with either no disk in it, or the tray open, then when it boots up you hit the triangle button. The latest DVD Player version is 2.10U I believe. It fixed several bugs with the original version 1.20U.

Eh, see I have it hooked up with Composite Video and am using the optical out to connect to my surround system. I don't have any problems. Even when I don't have the surround on and am only listening with the TV speakers.

In the menu options on your PS2 there is should be a volume control option.

No no, they were asking how your AUDIO is hooked up, not your video (I'm assuming you meant component with your post Duzmor, not the old composite & 2 RCA audio connectors). Optical connections need to be at a higher volume than normal analog ones. In the end, it'll give you a finer control over the volume than you'd have otherwise.

If you are using an analog connection, than take rickabilities' advice and boost the volume a step or two in the options, if it is really bothering you.

Otherwise...there isn't really a problem here, you just might not be used to the difference in volume levels between games or TV and movies on DVD.

It is set in to A Sony 32" Tv- and it has 3 In puts 2 on the rear one in the very front - When you play games with the PS2 it is fine (Same audio as the TV-But when you stick a DVD into the PS2 you have to drive the Sound up to like 3/4 to Be the Same ????

Thanks For all the help
