ok at my old house i had a line amp installed it a 4 outputs at 5.7Db a piece and my cable stauyed up fine with that well im looking to get another one but dont want to get it from the cable company cause they charged me 80 bucks can someone tell me where i could buy this online. please include links

Do you need one? If you levels are from -15 dB to +15dB into the modem you should be OK(Manufacturer Specs).

If you get an amp, it has to be able to work in both directions. Usually it won't amplify the UPSTREAM signals; it doesn't need to. Soem house amps really just cause problems from being incorrectly installed and set out.

Check Blonder-Tongue.......that is just one manufacturer that comes to mind right now. There are others that are better but I can't think of any right now.

Mine changes from 9-11dBmV

Your's is perfect where it's sitting, don't adjust it...the range you should be looking at is 35 dB to 50 dB...anything outside of that range, and you start looking at problems...if you were to put a reverse capable amp in that amplifies by 15 dB, you'd end up with an upstream power level of 30 dB, which essentially is overdriving the signal...

well cable company came out and installed direct line today so we wil lsee how that does
