Geforce 4 4200 and upgrade

Post by RedGhost »

Hello. This is my first post and I just wondered if anyone might know this question. Can you buy a Geforce 4 4200 from the U.S that will work in a U.K PC?

I'm not sure about this as the power supplies are different I know, but I just thought I would ask.

Also can anyone help give a good guide on what sort of upgrade, and whats the best for around $600 (U.S) or £400 (U.K). I need a new graphics card, Motherboard and CPU.

I think the Geforce 4 4200 looks good.. only becasue its not a crappy false MX.

Thanks very much for any help.

You can use any commercially available component from anywhere in the world in your computer. All you have to make sure is that your Power supply Unit(PSU) is set to the correct input standard for the UK. ;)

i went the hunder higher and got its big brother :D Ti4600

wow is all i can say wow weeee

what kind of cpu you got and ram cuz as i learnd they hard way

the card can be faster then what your pc can prosses and then if your usen slow ram that will bottle neck so mabye you should buy cpu and MOBO 1st look around on the net and u should beable to get a good deal and by the time u get your MOBO and cpu the Ti440 will have gone down in price :D

make sure u buy a MOBO with DDr ram

cuz even my pen 3 1ghz with Sdram is bottelnecken this card

but dont get my wrong kick the azz out of my oldgeforce 2 mx 32meg lmao

But ya stay away from the MX like it was the black death

hope that helps a bit

wow.
after looken at wips 3dmark id say go ti4600

cuz with my slower pc and sdram i still bench 7143 not O/Ced a bit

Ti4400 is not the MX one right to many numbers heheheh

but if u look on 3dmark cuz u want new MOBO and cpu

if u got pen 4 with ddr ram 1.4-2 ghz your score would be be alot higher them mine 7143 so id say TI4600 beats the hell out of Ti400

i dont know id spend hunderd more and go TI4600 if your gonna get a fast cpu

settrippen thats my old score :rotfl:

If you click the link you'll see it's for my Geforce 2 Ultra and not my Ti4400 card :D Not really had time to benchmark my new card properly yet and hence thats why i haven't put up a new score.

I did a quick run through 3DMarkSE and got 10,000 marks but that was with the drivers off the CD and not much overclocking I'll do a more conclusive test tommorow and edit my sig or you. :)

10,730 with overclocking. :)

Not quite as high as I expected think it might be because I'm using windows 2000?
