Even though I don't like cats, on my system it is not slow to bootup. Complete boot up is about 60 seconds from power on to last startup program running. But then again, I am running a dual PIII 1 gig (oc'd to 1.1) on an Abit VP6 Raid with 1.5 gig Ram.....................
Is technology the slave of mankind or are we the slaves of it?

ARsoft has a self-installing ram disk which is simple to install and works fine in Windows XP:

(also, my primary (RAID) drive is NTFS)

60 seconds!?!
Damn... a whole minute with all that RAM? I only have a Pentium 3 @ 766MHz w/ 640MB RAM and mine boots up in 25 seconds, tops. Have you tweaked XP yet? Check out http://www.tweakxp.com and Lobo's XP tweaks as well.

Your are right. I just counted it now and it is actually 24 seconds. It seems like a minute though, still too long......
