Overclocking my Radeon 8500???

Post by Kastel86 »

I want to oc my video card to 300\300mhz but i dont want to put install a new fan on my video card nor heat sinks? I have the antec case with 4 fans not including the powersupply fan and im gonna get a slot fan to go right under my video card. Is that enough cooling to raise it from 275\275mhz to 300/300mhz?

If you're lucky. Try it out, if you see any artifacts or experience crashing, lower the clockspeed.

go for it

user powerstrip or rage3d tweaker

set it to 300/300

if it's a Made by ATI card it will do it with no problems

if you do experience problems like Martial said you can easily back it down....

won't know until you try

my two made by ati radeon 8500LE cards oc to 310/310 just fine...

i keep em at 300/300 they run fast and stable...

ok that's not aways true bro, my made by ati 64MB retail card..275/275 wouldn't hit 290/290..only 281/281..i volt modded it (pencil trick) and now i get 290/317.. gonna see if i can get more out of the core now..PS that's with ramsinks and a crystal orb.

heh..300/300 isn't bad but good luck..some of the cores don't like..

stock cooling

it came with ATI's HSF, and NO ram sinks

you could add some copper ram sinks though, it would be a good investment if you intend to keep it overclocked....
