Hello,
Today, I tried to format my external USB 2.0 hard drive. The format indicator went all the way, but when the format was almost over, the drive said that an error had occurred with the format (or something like that). The drive still worked after the attempted format. My question now is that since the drive seemed to go through the full format but quit at the end, will I experience any problems with it? Will the drive cause me any sort of data loss?

IF so, go to run, and type cmd(or if your running win9x, go to the dos prompt), and put format x: (substitute x for the driveletter of the drive), this should format it using the windows way of doing it..
It should work!

i formated one of my partitions yesterday and it said the same thing so i just redid it and it worked the second time. didn't want to take a chance of it being messed up 'cause it is for a backup.
