Anything related to hardware (CPU/MoBo/Video/FSB/BIOS, etc.), hardware settings, overclocking, cooling, cool cases, case mods, hardware mods, post pics of your unique creations here.
What's the sillyest thing you've done to modify your PC...or correct an existing problem? To give you an example I'll tell you what I've done....er am DOING....
Right now I have my Case angled out with the inside panel off. About a foot or 2 away I have an old GE space fan (read room fan) sitting on the ground blowing air onto the Mobo and Processor I'm having difficulties installing an exhaust fan so this seemed like a good idea to me.
It keeps the temps down nicely and creates a nice electrical hazard in my room
So what afro engineering have you guys been up too?
well the front door on my old PC broke...so I used duct tape to tape it so I could still use the door while my lazy butt was on its way to best buy to get the replacement that they had waiting for it (yes, it was a compaq and YES it was a long time ago :shutters
I once used a pen for the power button cause it popped intot he case and it was the only way I could reach it....I didnt feel like fixing it....
I know ive done more...Ill post them later

Not engineering but about 2 months ago I hid my foil pipe on my cd-rom and it fell on my PNY GeForce 3... everything on the monitor got scrambled and i felt like crying. Had to get a new one, i just told them a screw fell on it.
I sent my case off to my uncle so he could cut some exaust fans in the back.
For 2 weeks i had all the components of my last P3 700mhz based system laid out on my desk running fine, in fact the temps had never been lower. When I got it back I had no plastic bezel on the case for about 2 months. cos i just couldn't be bothered screwing it back on.
And I've got two blue orbs stuck to the back of my graphics card right now. Which to be honest aren't doing much good but it looks pretty cool.

Lol...now that beats all Running your rig wide out in the open...I love that
I was so pissed for about half the day today cause of my fan woes...then I started laughing cause I realized it's taken me more time and effort just to properly attach this case fan than it did to put together my entire PC.
Note* This is the first system I've ever built. Now that I have the fan figured out it's easy...but just a day ago I didn't have a clue about how to wire it up.

Dude....that must be some ghetto dope. Foil pipe? Come on.....invest in some glassware. It will last you a lifetime (and it's non-conductive!)
