Linksys ICQ2001b

Post by softech »

Hi, I have a problem setting up file transfer and direct chat on Icq 2001b.

I was ok using the following setup with icq 2000.

In Linksys, I set port trigger,
Trigger Port Range 5190 ~ 5190
Incoming Port Range 50000 ~ 50199

and on my mahcine 1, I set icq I am behind firewall and
Use the following TCP listen port for incoming event 50000~50099

On machine2, i use 50100 ~ 50199 for TCP listen port

My friend can send my chat request or file transfer request and I can accept it... BUT... after that, they receive error:
Direct connection cannot be established.

Anyone has any solutions? this setting work with ICQ 2000 .. but just not 2001 b.

Thanks

Some time I just chuckle at questions like these.

In the router you have to turn off DHCP Server and give each comp an ip address then in the router you need to port Forward. That will sole all your problems

You got ICQ setup right !

"Use the following TCP listen port for incoming event 50000~50099 "

Doesnt work because ICQ doesnt listen from that due to a bug. It opens what it wants, really.
Work: DQ
Comp: AXP 1600+, MSI K7T266a Pro2 RU, 512MB PC2100, GF3 Ti200 128MB
