OMG i have update the damn ICQ before a week from my old 99B version to the damn fresh one , and i am getting all the time damn web cam porno messages ... look me blabla bla.. i am naked blabla bla ...... i have stuff my ignore list and still they are coming .. :(
I have set all the security parameters to high , the only door that is open is to receive messages from people out of my list .. Damn if i close even that one then what i need the ICQ for ..

No. Not viable with all those programs out there that take out banner ads.
Besides, this way they get to know if you are real.

I never get any ads with AIM.... and its a microsoft product

and with deadAIM, there are no ADS, PERIOD

The answer is simple enough.... take most of your info out of your profile and don't let ICQ list you in the White Pages...

Besides Sync, if you block messages from users not on your list, authorization request still get through, so you'd notice when someone real tries to message you.

It has to have something to do with older versions. I have the same number on a different computer, which I had to use for a couple weeks when this one was down, and it was getting at least 50 a day. That computer has an older version than this one. With this one, I dont even see one a day. Weird eh?

Its easy to turn it off. I havent gotten any since I turned the things off.

It's almost funny. I've had the name/number I've had for like 1 to 2 years, and never had ICQ spam bots. Like 6 total.

How does one get them? They /fun/ to prank.
So trade that typical for something colorful, and if it's crazy live a little crazy!

Ken ... There is a serius problem with this messages ..... The damn software that they use to send the messages , IS NOT one ICQ normal acound ...

By the way if i did like porno why to start naging about it .. Plus i am using Norton Firewall and Norton antivirus 2002 ..
Any way i will block all incoming messages from users that is not in my list , and i will see how it goes .
The point is that there is not only messages coming , but plus URL messages ..
