Corporate Multiplayer Gaming
I'm looking for a networkable game that can be played on a corporate LAN/WAN. Somthing that is a small install and especially a tank game. Or any multiplayer game for that matter.
TIA

Some good old FPS style games, such as Quake/Quake2/Quake3.
What cha mean small? Because of the workstations at the office not being too robust, graphics card wise? Quake 1 and 2 should be good in that case.
I never really found good multiplayer tank games.

something small for the office I say go back to good ol' doom....play it on my school servers all the time...only downside is the max 4 people allowed...ofcorse quake 2 is a step up and allows more people...I dont know many tank games as that genre has died out pretty much. your much better off with FPS games....ofcourse I got one question...SHOULDNT YOU BE WORKING INSTEAD OF PLAYING GAMES!?!?

In RTS games the person who can move his mouse faster wins... only RTS games where I think strategy does take a major roll, is the ones like Ground Control, where you can't build 50 tanks...
Come play CS with me... I'll screw with your mind in a way that will shed a whole new light on CS and strategy...

LOL
Mouse-moving speed? It's true with any game except for RPG's. Even with some RPG's, it requires mouse-speed.
Oh no, CS strategy. In RTS, you may actually have to use real tactics of battle, be it from an old WWII tactic or a modern gurellia strategy. In CS, there's two basic things: camping, rushing. Depending on the map, your team may split up or do whatever. In cs_assault, it is best that your team splits up so you watch every entrance depending on skill level.

I used to be an avid rts fan, c&c series, warcraft 1 and 2. starcraft. But c&c ts ruined it for me, becuse I hyped that game so much, and it was nothing I thought it would be
I was good at those games. All you have to do is know the best unit, and build a lot of them. In the original C&C, just pick NOD, and build the recon bikes. 15 will drop the CY of a heavily defended base. In starcraft, everyone just plays zerg and builds the zerglings, game's over in 5 minutes. LOL you can pretend that your little "strategys" work, but who ever has the faster mouse, and gathers the most resources, wins.

Doesn't always work. For instance, if you build a whole bunch of recons, to counter it, a smart person would build concret walls with infantry. Infantry can just demolish them. You just can't build all of one unit as they have weaknesses. Just exploit them and they're gone. For mammoth tanks, infantry. For medium tanks, infantry. For flame tanks, light tanks. Etc. etc. In RA2, you just can't build a whole bunch of prism tanks. Doesn't work that way.Originally posted by noxiousg
