Can you name a few good...

Post by tweak101 »

Can you name a few good DSL providers with static IP with no extra cost and affordable price with OK speed 1.5 Mbps/128Kbps. I am really sick and tire of ATT. I've been having it for quite some times now with static IP. Until last nite, with no notices my IP change. The only problem I having is that I use Linux as my IP masquerading machine for my other 3 computers in my room. Therefore, now the IP keeps changing once in a while, I have to update my domain name info at godaddy.com and so as my local box. Damn don't wanna do that so thinking of switching to DSL.

Please need your opinions...

Thanks!

You may wish to read the AUP for ATTBI. No servers.

Most affordable DSL will be the same.

I would give anything to have my IP change often. I have quite a few enemies on the net that are deperately trying to get at my machine. One has so far but not too much damage. I'd like to have it change to remain anonymous.

Use an IP spoofer everytime you go somewhere.

Truthfully, it's much easier to change your attitude and the way you act than to change your IP. Works much better both on the Net and in real life in the long run too. ;)

Basic DSL service will be dynamic IP.

For a static IP account, you usually pay about 1.5 times the basic rate for the Business Account, which often itself has different levels, from basic speeds (1500/128), to the high speed package (6000/384). If you want static IP, and to be able to run servers, get a business account.
