Post by kindredmwa »

I just installed cablenut .08 over the existing .02 and it erased my previous settings.I had 578160 as my rwin and i re entered it but it doesnt register on the analyzer....i forgot what to do to get it to work properly....Any help on how to get it back to my old settings would be great!Im running XP pro with 512 ddr,amd 1.4 tbird... Here is my results now..Im on comcast cable....

TCP options string = 020405b401010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 64240
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2569.6 kbps (321.2 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1027.84 kbps (128.48 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 37 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

Ok,did that and this is what it says now,what next?I applied the fast cable settings first.....is that the problem?I remember something about the scaling if im not mistaken...thanks for the help,you da man!

MTU = 1500

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 65535
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 65535
Note: Under Windows 9x, if you have RWIN set to any other value, and the Analyzer reports 65535 you might need to install the MS Vtcp386 fix.

All Cablenut settings are for RWIN 64240, if you do not use that RWIN the setting do not apply to you, Click on clear all boxes at bottom to get you back to Windows defaults, save to registry & REBOOT, after do the above :)

Also try these tcp Window sizes in GlobalMax too: 584000, 589840, 607360, 642400

Disabling Zone alarm does not keep it from running in background, you have to go to control panel and add/remove it, uninstall :)
