Scrabble

Post by glen4cindy »

My wife would like to be able to play Scrabble over the Internet with a friend. I have a home LAN set up with a Linksys BEFSR41 4 port router. This is plugged into a cable modem.

Is there any way to enable her to play without setting the PC she will be playing on as a DMZ host?

The Scrabble game can be configured to use any port wanted. By default, it is port 3000. I tried port forwarding, but that didn't seem to work.

It does work using DMZ hosting, but I really don't want to do that, as it kind of nullifies the protections of NAT through the router.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

How about trying http://www.playsite.com ?
You can register for free and set up a private table where you all can play scrabble.
