ping question
ping question
i have dsl is 250 ms pings to high???
Depends on where your pinging from. If it's from Uzbakistan, then that's not bad, but if its anywhere in the US/Europe that is much to high.
On CS, I range from 37-100 ping on my 1500/256 DSL.

i'm going to become rich and famous after i invent a device that allows you to stab people in the face over the internet
The cap on the line doesn't have any relation to pings at all.
There are 3 main things;
1. Line Encoding
2. Proximity to the POP
3. Backbone traffic / route
For instance; Back in the glory days of Northpoint, their 144k IDSL at 27k feet out (Coppermountain DSLAM, 2B1Q line encoding) will have a lower ping than a 7.1mb/640k Verizon line at 250 feet (Alcatel DSLAM DMT ADSL Line Share) to the same machine.
