i just wanted to know if there are any roadrunner customers who consistently download at speeds of 100 Kb/s or more.

whoa, that's fast. is that mainly from the bandwidth your isp gives you or did the tweaks really help?

yes i run the new beta program and it helped alot.

Speeds on RoadRunner are controlled by your local cable company. Most cap residential accounts at 2 or 2.5 mbits down, 384 kbits up, but not all.

I know of no Road Runner company that sets them as low as 100 kilobytes.

Be sure that you are testing to a site on the local Road Runner network. National speed test, such as the one at DSL Reports cannot give accurate data. (This is NOT the fault of DSL Reports!)

ya i always test at my road runner test page and at http://happypuppy.com/ and i do the same download each time and clear my temp files.

Thats BS I get like a max of 300 per sec, and i live near you same city, what tweak did you use. Oh yah, is it because i have a 100mhz computer some people said that it can affect it

there is no way you get 600K its capped at 2mbps and 384 down i have a friend who works for them no way to uncap either even if you are not using there toshiba modem
i am hitting about 247K about 8mb through a 10mb file and hitting about 46 K down and that is damn fast but i am in a rural area w/ no other subscribers in my area
AND I TOO LIVE IN CENTRAL FL about 30 min north of you

But what i am interested in is how you have such a low cpu usage how do you do that?
Can you post your processes you are running at startup please that would help me and also how is your PF usage so low mine in 120mb and cpu is 20% (this is with my virus software, xp virus software,and forum page)

one more thing how many processes are you running it says i am running 27 that seems like alot when i don't know what they are and like i said that is all i am running at startup is avi and my nic card

how do you post an image so i can show you??????????????

21 process no antivirus yet just a browser and hwdoctor clean zone alarm clean install.

i did not know XP had antivirus soft ware ?

where do i find it ?

No not av the firewall, my cpu usage still seems high though your at 1% and i am at 20% i see you do have 1 gig memory though i have 512 that could have something to do with your low cpu usage
